covid-19 cancellations

I am sure that all of you are paying close attention to the recent developments in the coronavirus pandemic. This has come into our own communities. We have had our first two cases in Lancaster this week and Lebanon has also encountered its first case. I want to thank everyone from Zion UMC for your patience throughout the past couple of weeks. You have been great and it is such a blessing to serve this wonderful congregation!

We are entering into a critical time in which all of us have a responsibility to reduce the risk of spreading this deadly virus. With this in mind, we will be canceling worship services and all church activities through April 5th (Palm Sunday). The church leadership will continue to monitor the situation and re-evaluate our service schedule at the beginning of April. In the meantime, we will continue to post the Sunday sermons and Wednesday's Word for you to view. Please also continue to give online or by sending your offering to the church, as you are able.

Thank you so very much for your understanding. This is a difficult time for our nation and the rest of the world as we battle this illness. I want to encourage everyone to stay away from close contact with others in an effort to hinder the spread of the coronavirus. Please pray fervently for those across the globe: medical staff, those infected by Covid-19, and for families that have lost loved ones. Pray that the church will use this time to minister powerfully to those suffering physically and emotionally.

We will get through this! The Lord is in control. I leave you with a passage that has helped me many times when I have struggled with fears and trials: "You keep them in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on you, because they trust in you," (Isaiah 26:3). Fix your eyes upon Jesus - our risen Savior! God bless you all and I pray that you all stay healthy. I can't wait to see you again.
